Mt Zion HOP Shops Disco Bathroom Launch Party: RED Button, Mr. Grouchy, Cincinnati Ghostbusters, & FoxNews56

On January 18th, 2024 from 3-5 PM, The Mt Zion HOP Shops recently hosted a Disco Bathroom Launch Party that turned out to be the talk of the town. PartyHighlights:  From surprise celebrity appearances to the exhilarating moments triggered by the iconic “red button,” the event was a unique blend of music, dancing, giveaways, and unexpected delights.

One of the highlights of the night was the presence of the wildly popular Mr. Grouchy. Known for his charm and distinctive character, Mr. Grouchy not only entertained the crowd but also became the center of attention as customers flocked to get pictures, say hi, and even do a dance off with him . The excitement grew even more when he pushed the red button, setting the stage for a dance party in the disco bathrooms.

The atmosphere was electrifying as the sound of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” filled the air. Mr. Grouchy navigated the store, dancing down every aisle and connecting with everyone there.  The crowd was in for another surprise when the Cincinnati Ghostbusters Ecto 513, driven by Skot, made a grand entrance, sparking wild cheers and admiration for the cool vehicle.

Marvin Bartlett from FoxNews56 out of Lexington was on the scene, capturing the excitement and promising a thrilling story to come. The Disco Bathroom Launch Party was more than just a celebration; it was an experience that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

Customers had the chance to “Push the RED Button” and step into the Disco Bathrooms for the first time. The reactions were overwhelmingly positive, with some drawing comparisons to the iconic bathrooms at Jungle Jim’s. One attendee expressed, “It’s like the HOP Shops version of their cool bathrooms.”

Skot from the Cincinnati Ghostbusters Ecto 513 shared his first experience with pushing the red button, describing it as a neat surprise that left a lasting impression. Other attendees shared their thoughts, ranging from nostalgia for the ’60s and ’70s to excitement about the unique music experience in each bathroom.

The feedback from customers was enthusiastic, with one person remarking, “I loved it. I wished I could have that where I work. Maybe they would take better care of my bathrooms.” Another attendee expressed appreciation for the unexpected surprises, saying, “I pushed the red button, and all of a sudden…boom. Playing music, we are dancing. It was a lot of fun. It was a surprise. Who would have thought. It was a good time.”

On January 18th, 2024 After customers “Pushed the RED Button” and experienced the Disco Bathrooms, we asked them what they thought. This is what some had to say:

“It made me think of Jungle Jim’s port a potty bathrooms. This is HOP Shops version of their cool bathrooms.”

“I’m Skot. My first experience with “pushing the RED button” was right before Christmas when my car broke down near Louisville. Once we got going and were on our way back, we stopped at the Carrollton HOP Shop and pushed the red button and got the surprise of my life. It was pretty neat. If you get a chance, just go in there and push the red button”

“Just pushed the red button and it’s like being back in the ’60’s, I had a wonderful time.”

“I think it’s really fun. I’ve been to the other one down the street (in Florence). I was excited they started one here too. Each one has different music and I love that too.”

“I pushed the red button and all of a sudden…boom. Music is playing and we are dancing. It was a lot of fun. It was a surprise. Who would have It was a good time.”

“It was pretty great. It brought me back to the early 70’s. That’s when I did it.”

“I loved it. I wished I could have that where I work. Maybe they would take better care of my bathrooms.”

“I really like this location. I have actually come quite a few times at other ones with disco bathrooms. It was nice coming here. The song, I wasn’t expecting it and not a song I would have considered, but it was a lot of fun.”

“That was amazing.”

“I seen it on channel 12 with Bob Herzog a couple of weeks ago. Then when I pulled in to the gas station, that thing caught my eye (points to Ghostbusters Ecto513). I thought, I’ll go in and see what’s going on. That (Mr Gouchy) startled me, lol. I got my stuff. I signed up for rewards. The bathroom was unreal. It was a lot of fun.”

“It was good. I think it’s really neat in there. Makes you feel like you re in a club”.

“I thought the disco bathroom was a great idea. Great addition to HOP Shops. We loved the experience”

“I love the red button. I went to the HOP Shops that had the song, ‘The Time of My Life’.” (That was Walton HOP Shops)

“I have been here every day, but this is the first time in the bathroom… with a dance party happening. Exciting times. It’ll get alot of attention.”

“It was the best song yet. I have been in the other one in Florence and the one in Walton.”
